SK rent-a-car earning No.1 ranking in rental car sector in ‘2021 KS-QEI’

SK rent-a-car announced on the 22nd that it won the 1st place in ‘2021 Korea Standard-Quality Excellence Index‘ in the car rental category hosted by Korean Standards Association.


Korea Standard-Quality Excellence Index (KS-QEI), developed by Korean Standards Association (KSA) and Korean Society for Quality Management, is an indicator that measures the quality of goods and services in terms of the characteristics of them and customer satisfaction. This comprehensive quality satisfaction index is one of the representative indicators assessing quality and satisfaction in Korea. For the measurement, it surveys consumers who experience using goods and services and experts to find out how they feel about the goods and services in six categories (▲performance ▲credibility ▲durability ▲usability ▲safety ▲accessibility) and three categories related to emotional quality.


SK rent-a-car has achieved the No.1 spot in the rental car sector a total of six times since 2011. This year, the company is recognized for the excellence especially in performance, credibility, and accessibility. In last June, the company ranked 1st in the rental car category of KS-WEI hosted by KSA in recognition of its service bringing better customer satisfaction and convenience for the 10th consecutive year.


SK rent-a-car has been recognized for its comprehensive vehicle management, ‘Smartlink’, which was launched four years ago and has been enjoyed by many companies including the affiliates of SK Group and public enterprises. In four years of the launch, more than 22,000 vehicles of 330 companies are using this service, which is a clear demonstration that its credibility has been proved and it is growing as a connectivity-based mobility platform.

‘Smartlink’ is the comprehensive vehicle management solution developed by SK rent-a-car in 2017. It boasts many outstanding functions including ‘vehicle management’ providing real-time driving information, ‘car sharing’ allowing the sharing of company vehicles outside office hours, and ‘fleet scheduler’ offering driving data and optimal driving routes.


In last December, Gimhae City Hall adopted ‘Smartlink’ and increased the number of vehicle operations from one to four times, which brought better efficiency and satisfaction in terms of vehicle operation. Besides, the function of car sharing enables employees to use company vehicles at cheaper rates. And companies can cut back its costs. Companies renting cars can reduce its rental rates because the rates of car sharing are deducted from monthly rental fees. In case of their own vehicles, they can offset costs using fuel & Hi-Pass cards exclusive to ‘Smartlink’. And the function of fleet scheduler enables logistics companies to save time and costs by providing real-time traffic information and optimal driving routes.


In addition, SK rent-a-car rolled out ‘SK rent-a-car Direct’, an online direct service for long-term rental, in May to keep up with the non-face-to-face trend. By doing so, the company has delivered a higher level of convenience and accessibility to customers.


This service allows customers to get an estimate and sign a deal for rental within three minutes on a mobile device or computer wherever and whenever they are. Customers can use this service around the clock after a simple procedure for authentication. It doesn’t require any application. Those who want to get a general estimate by vehicle type, the authentication procedure is not required. All they have to do is to click on five items - vehicle type, contract terms, driver range, whether to get maintenance service or not, and initial payment, and then, the result comes out within one minute.
