SpeedMate, a total car maintenance brand of SK networks, announced on October 18 that it entered into a business agreement with Hankook Tire & Technology at the company’s head office (located in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do) for the supply of Hankook Tire’s Roadmate products.

Roadmate is a tire brand newly launched this month by Hankook Tire, a global leader in tire manufacturing. As a premium comfort tire proudly presenting excellent performance in driving distance and across the seasons, the brand is regarded to offer an economic value which is most appreciated by domestic consumers.

A Hankook Tire executive explained, “The long-mileage compound technology was used to design Roadmate tires with optimal tire structures that raised the driving distance performance.” Other notable features include excellent water drainage through vertical grooves and fine grooves in addition to all season functionality with enhanced operation on snowy roads. The unique pattern reduces noise and cornering performance is increased as well.

Roadmate tires are offered in various sizes that can be installed on different automobile types from 14-inch tires for Ray to 19-inch tires for Genesis EQ900. This is anticipated give passenger car drivers a wider range of choices.

SpeedMate offers 20% discount to customers who buy Roadmate tires at SpeedMate stores across the country until November 30. In addition, paid-up (premium) members of the Club SM, a car maintenance membership service, will be offered 25% discount benefits.

SpeedMate further plans to firmly establish its positioning as a tire distributor through collaborations with various companies including Hankook Tire to represent the maintenance industry as well as Korea.

A SpeedMate executive said, “We will bring in our product supply experience for global manufacturers such as Achilles and Dunlop, and strive to capture domestic customer base. We will further develop into a leader in the automotive aftermarket sector.”
