SK rent-a-car raised the level of information protection of ‘Smartlink’ to a higher level of security and safety.

SK rent-a-car (CEO: Hwang Il-moon) announced on the 9th that it has acquired Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) in the SaaS area for ‘G-Smartlink’, which is a solution specifically targeting public institutions based on ‘Smartlink,’ a comprehensive automobile management solution.

CSAP is a system provided by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) to _uate and certify compliance with information protection standards in accordance with the Article 23 (2) of the ‘Act on the Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of Its Users’ so that users can use cloud services with assurance. In particular, CSAP certification is essential for private operators to provide cloud services for public institutions.

The 'Software as a Service (SaaS)’ basic grade certification acquired by SK rent-a-car consists of 30 control items in 11 fields, including administrative and technical protection measures and additional protection measures for cloud computing services for public institutions. SK rent-a-car went through a rigorous inspection process for about six months, followed by completing the _uation on entire items and finally receiving certification.

‘Smartlink' is a total automobile management solution solely developed by SK Rent-a-car in 2017. It has various functions tailored to customer needs, such as 'vehicle management' based on real-time driving information and 'car sharing' for company vehicles. A number of public institutions are already using the 'Smartlink' service by building their own servers and managing public vehicles in an integrated way. It has enabled efficient vehicle dispatch when supporting public affairs, thereby reducing the number of operating vehicles. It brings about higher satisfaction due to reduced cost and streamlined recording tasks for vehicle management and operation.

An SK rent-a-car official explained, “we have laid the foundation for stable cloud-based service for public institutions, departing from the usual way of building a separate server through national certification.” He added, “we plan to apply for registration in the ‘digital service support system’ so that public institutions can use Smartlink in a more easy and convenient manner soon.”
