SK networks beefs up the availability of refurbished parts for imported automobiles in partnership with an automobile insurer.
SK networks announced on the 19th that the company signed an MOU to supply imported auto ECO parts with Hyundai Hicar Claims Service at Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The ECO parts are refurbished auto parts like recyclable bumpers, doors, trunks, etc. salvaged from damaged/repaired automobiles and made available to eligible insurance buyers. The two companies will provide auto parts to drivers insured under the Hyundai Eco Point Reward Riders.
The MOU was conceived to provide more affordable maintenance options to imported auto owners.
Refurbished parts can help them not only recycle resources but also make more reasonable economic decisions by cutting down on repair costs for their insured vehicles. Customers insured under the aforementioned riders are also entitled to additional rewards credited from the use of ECO parts.
SK networks is in charge of operating the overall business process including purchase of imported auto parts, inspection and delivery of refurbished parts to insurers. Recyclable parts from damaged or salvaged imported automobiles will be purchased, refurbished and forwarded to insurers. This has been possible thanks to the long-standing experience of SK networks in comprehensive auto care services including basic automotive maintenance, emergency call service, tire retail and imported auto parts distribution in combination with the company’s commitment to creating new customer values. When it comes to automotive parts distribution service, SK networks has deployed its distribution network at over 120 locations across the country and beefed-up imported auto parts distribution capability since 2008.
The partnership forged by the two companies is expected to build the business model of supplying refurbished parts and contribute to creating social values at the same time.
A source at SK networks said, “We will step up our partnership with more auto insurers besides Hyundai Hicar and expand the range of auto part refurbishing to prevent unnecessary waste of resources and reduce waste disposal costs.“ And added, “SK networks will remain committed to boosting sustainability with eco-friendly resource-recycling business initiatives.“
Meanwhile, when it comes to mobility life, SK networks is taking the initiative across the entire spectrum of relevant businesses, with its subsidiaries. The company operates Korea’s top full-package automotive care brand SpeedMate and officially launched the car care platform THE CARPET specialized to the needs of imported automobiles early this year. Furthermore, its subsidiary SK car rental is spearheading market innovations with EV (electric vehicle) rental services at the heart of business portfolio, and the online tire/battery shopping mall TIREPICK is preparing to evolve into a platform provider. SK network also launched a parts business division in the planned organizational reshuffle this year, launching a series of new services and working on innovation of distribution model.
