SK Magic (CEO: Kim Wan Sung) has once again reaffirmed its world-class water quality analysis capabilities.
On the 19th, SK Magic announced that its Environmental Analysis Center has been selected as a 'Laboratory of Excellence' for six consecutive years in the International Proficiency Test for drinking water, organized by the U.S. Environmental Resource Associates (ERA).
The International Proficiency Test is a globally recognized evaluation program conducted annually by ERA, a world leader in proficiency testing. Approximately 200 analysis institutions from around the world participate, undergoing comprehensive assessments of the reliability and accuracy of their analysis data.
SK Magic’s Environmental Analysis Center took part in the drinking water category, achieving the highest rating of 'Satisfactory' in all 17 evaluation items, which included five heavy metals, four anions, five organic compounds, and three general categories. This further solidifies the center's world-class capabilities in drinking water quality measurement and analysis. In April, the center also received a 'Pass' rating for the fifth consecutive year in the domestic proficiency test for drinking water, organized by the National Institute of Environmental Research under the Ministry of Environment. It was recognized as an outstanding accredited institution for its excellent water quality analysis capabilities, including microbial testing for organisms such as Enterococcus, Salmonella, and Shigella.
As a specialized environmental analysis unit under SK Magic’s Research and Development Center, the Environmental Analysis Center was established in 2019 at the Hwaseong plant, a key production hub. It operates as an accredited institution for water quality testing, covering drinking water, bottled water, groundwater, and raw water. The center also, contributes to the development of technologies and products related to water and air quality, environmental pollutants, and hygiene. Leveraging its advanced analytical capabilities, the center plays a critical role in SK Magic’s in-house development and production of industry-leading water purifier and air purifier filters. Since 2020, the company has been producing its own carbon filters, which are vital for enhancing water taste, and it ensures consistent filter quality through regular water purification performance evaluations conducted by the Environmental Analysis Center.
A representative from SK Magic’s Environmental Analysis Center commented, “We are continuously working to ensure that our customers can trust and enjoy not only clean and fresh water but also water that is tastier and healthier, in collaboration with our in-house water sommeliers. Moving forward, SK Magic will continue to strive to deliver world-class products and services, supported by our expert research team and advanced analytical technologies.”
