MINTIT (CEO: Lee Hwan Yong) announced on the 2nd that the MINTIT app received the main award in the 'Brand & Communication Design' category at the ‘Red Dot Design Award 2024’.
Established in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award is recognized as one of the top three global design awards, alongside Germany’s ‘if’ and the U.S.’ ‘IDEA.’ Winners are chosen based on a comprehensive evaluation of elements such as design, quality, functionality, and eco-friendliness.
In 2019, MINTIT won the Red Dot Design Award for its AI-powered used phone trading kiosk, MINTIT ATM. This year, MINTIT has once again proven the excellence of its design and service with the MINTIT app.
The award-winning MINTIT app, launched in 2022, was revamped in January this year to optimize the user experience. It was particularly praised for its UX design, which makes it easier for customers to quickly locate and conveniently use MINTIT ATMs. In addition, MINTIT received positive evaluations for promoting secure used phone transactions through its personal data deletion technology, contributing to resource recirculation through ICT recycling, and enhancing customer communication.
An official at MINTIT said, “As South Korea's leading ICT recycling company, MINTIT has once again been recognized for its excellence in design and used phone transaction services. Moving forward, we will continue to upgrade our AI-powered phone inspection and evaluation technologies, enhance data management capabilities, and focus on user convenience to create an environment where anyone can easily and securely trade used phones.”
Meanwhile, on the 1st, MINTIT appointed Lee Hwan Yong as its new CEO following an organizational reshuffle. He succeeds Ha Sung Moon, who had led MINTIT for nearly three years since its founding in September 2021. Lee is an ICT expert with extensive experience in key roles at SK Networks' ICT Business Unit and has proven expertise in tax and accounting. Most recently, he served as the head of the Business Support Office, where he played a key role in supporting SK Networks' transformation into an AI-driven company.
Under Lee's leadership, MINTIT plans to further strengthen its innovation and upgrade its technology amid changing market conditions, such as the upcoming ‘Certified Used Phone Dealer’ initiative.
