SK networks is reshuffling its management leadership to speed up its drive to create new values. The company announced its 2023 organizational overhaul and management reshuffle on December 1, naming Executive Director Lee Ho-jeong in charge of the Management Support Division as the new General President.

New General President Lee Ho-jeong is a strategy/investment expert who managed SK Group’s business portfolio at SK Inc. from 2017 after serving as the CEO of SK pinx and Director of the Strategic Planning Office at SK networks. Returning to SK networks in 2021, he has enabled SK networks and its subsidiaries to beef up their business competence as the Executive Director of the Management Support Division and facilitated the future growth of the company as the Executive Director of the New Business Promotion Division, overseeing global investment initiatives and expansion of the EV infrastructure. New General President Lee Ho-jeong is expected to be appointed as CEO in next year’s general shareholders' meeting and the board of directors meeting.

An official at SK networks said, "We have considered stability and continuity of organizational operations in the midst of increasing uncertainty in the business landscape and decided to name an expert on business strategy and investment who is well versed with internal business dynamics as the new leader of SK networks mandated to expedite the future growth of the company with change and innovation."

Meanwhile, General Executive Director Choi Sung-hwan (COO) has been promoted to president. He oversaw SK networks’ global investment network buildup and internal competence development, drawing upon his insight on global business refined by his experience in supervising SK Group’s first-ever investment in a US startup. In 2020, he successfully concluded a project of splitting SK networks’ directly owned gas stations into assets and businesses and selling them off to multiple counterparties.

As a result, new General President Lee Ho-jeong and General Executive Director and President Choi Sung-hwan who took major investment and operational decisions for the past two years as the Head of the Management Support Division and the New Business Promotion Division and the General Executive Director respectively will team up with each other as partners to take the helm of SK networks from next year and onward.

On the same day, SK networks appointed Yoo Bong-woon, head of the Finance Division, as next year’s CFO and Ryu Seong-hee, head of the Sustainable Management Division, as CSO. Jung Han-jong, head of the New Growth Promotion Division, and Representative Cho Hyung-ki, leading the EV charging solution provider whose acquisition is in progress, were also named Executive Directors. Furthermore, the Blockchain Business Division was placed under the remit of the New Growth Promotion Division and the Parts Business Division was incorporated into the Speedmate Business Division in a bid to enhance operational efficiency and build up sustainable growth drivers.

A source at SK networks emphasized, “We will do our best to ensure sustainable growth of the company and create greater corporate value by improving operational efficiency and growth potential and naming/fostering next-generation leaders, with our business portfolio and organizational structure overhauled to better address the ever-challenging business landscape.”
