SK networks (CEO: Sang Kyu Park), in the course of adding value as an operation based investment company, announced on May 9 that it invested KRW 10 billion via Soft Bank Ventures contribution in a funding round aimed to raise approximately KRW 230 billion. The funding round was led by ‘Bucket Place’, the operator of ‘Today’s House’, which currently leads the home furnishing market in South Korea based on online platform.
Today’s House is a brand representing the home interior market in South Korea, which has established an unrivaled position by providing various services in the household-related life_ field including relevant contents and commerce, construction agency, direct delivery and home service (repair, installation, moving, etc.). Today’s House is also planning to make its way into overseas markets such as the U.S. and Singapore.
Given the sustained growth of the home furnishing market (e.g., home interior and accessories), it is anticipated by SK networks that Today’s House will continue to grow since it is the no. 1 brand in the industry and has an excellent competitive edge, particularly as an online platform.
