SK rent-a-car became the first to obtain ISO 45001 among companies in the same line of business

- SK rent-a-car declared its new safety and health policy with the creation of an organization in charge, and analyzed the risk factors of all its business sites for amelioration, which resulted in the establishment of a safety and health management system that lives up to international standards.
- The obtainment was attributed to its efforts to build the best management system in the same industry following the acquisition of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) in 2007, and Anti-bribery Management System (ISO 37001) in last November, and the efforts will be made for full-fledged ESG management in a constant manner

SK rent-a-car (CEO: Hwang Il-moon) made an announcement on the 7th that it became the first to obtain the Occupational Health and Safety Management (ISO 45001) from the British Standards Institution (BSI), a UK standards body, among the companies in the same industry.


ISO 45001 is the best-known international standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), aimed at preventing all forms of risks and creating a safe environment at work. With the Serious Accidents Punishment Act coming into effect in Korea, more and more people are paying attention to work safety. Against this backdrop, we are seeing a growing number of companies that are certified in terms of safety across the whole industry.


SK rent-a-car newly enacted and declared its safety and health policy along with the creation of an organization in charge to acquire the certification. Furthermore, it analyzed the risk factors of all its business sites and suppliers, and improved those areas to establish a safety and health management system that meets the requirements of international standards.


Specifically, SK rent-a-car made corporate-wide efforts such as conducting self-_uation of internal auditors with licenses related to safety and health, carrying out activities to raise employees’ safety awareness, and increasing investments in safety and health sector such as facilities, diagnosis, and systems and facilitating the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and the Safety and Health Council. As a result, it successfully obtained certification with excellent _uation results from the institution.


The company plans to upgrade the operation and _uation system of the safety and health management system for its members and stakeholders and to keep reinforcing the response system to prevent risks.


SK rent-a-car continues its endeavors to establish a management system that meets international standards as a leading company in the industry. It acquired not only this certification on safety and health management systems but also the quality management system (ISO 9001), environmental management system (ISO14001) in 2007, as well as anti-corruption management system (ISO 37001) in November. The series of international standard certifications demonstrate the official recognition of the company’s ESG management performance.


An official from SK rent-a-car said, “the certification acquired this time shows the external recognition of our strong will to put the safety and health of our members as the top priority.” He added, “from the perspective of ESG, we will make all-out efforts to become the best workplace where our employees are safe and satisfied.”
